Brown Nudes

The obsessions with browns and nudes is at a serious high this season. The launch of Kylie Jenner's lip kits has made the need for a matte version even more clear.

I've started a collection that will continue to eat all my pay check and probably student loan. These are by far my favourite brown based nudes (that are actually easy to get a hold off).

Mac's Stone is the first, it has a very grey and brown mix tone to the lipstick. You do need to layer this one up a little bit but with Mac Bittersweet liner underneath the brown really comes through.

Lord & Berry's Perfect Nude is much more pink based but once dry still has that clear brown tone to the look. The lipstick last forever as well which is a plus, it can be slightly over drying though.

Lime Crime's Salem is defiantly my favourite  it is the most pigmented and last well on. It is a very deep brown but is still every day wearable. It also works well with Bittersweet liner by Mac. The matte formula is not overly drying like the Lord & Berry so sits better on the lips.

The Plus Size Stigma

The term ‘Plus size’ may refer to some that just a simple clothing range or a section in  the store. But to those who shop with in it, it can feel some what different. After reading Style.Mic’s article on how women felt about the term plus size, its just proven the stigma is still there.

For those who go to New Look and simply want to look around the Plus Size section Inspire screams embarrassment it instinctively separates the so called “regular” size clothes from the larger. This is just pulling consumer away, you may think, if you know you're that size why are you embarrassed?, size is always a sensitive subject and especially in the fashion industry.  The campaign #droptheplus really highlights this.

With River Islands new plus size range upcoming, it will be interesting to see if other leading retailers like Topshop (who only offer up to a size 16 uk!) ,will be soon to join and if this means the stigma will settle down. Some may find the sectioning better as it is then easier to find the clothes that fit but to other the products being mix is all they want. As plus size fashion is becoming more integrated it seems fit that the clothes should too.
