Homeware - Wish List - Zara Home Edition

Hey guys,

So in September I will be going back to uni and moving in to my new house, which I can't wait for. I've been looking at all new homeware I can buy and decorate my room with and I have fallen in love with Zara home section online. If I could buy it all I would but living on that student budget ain't easy. So I thought I'd create a little wish list and hopefully be able to find these at cheaper prices at some point!! For my room I am limited and can't hanging things on the wall as we are just renting. So I want to find new different bits and piece I can cover my room in.

I really like metal and glass details together and I constantly need containers for make up product and jewellery and all that junk so I though these would be really cute. I am also in love with the white and  green combination on all of there decorative bedding.

Netflix Top Five Tv Series

Hey guys,

I thought i'd do one of those standard Netflix favourites lists, I've been feeling very uninspired and haven't blogged recently at all so I though i'd easy myself back in with this post and it might give you some idea on what to watch and even a bit of insight in to the type of person I am. This is in no order by the way, I couldn't order them if I tried.

  • Chuck - The best way I can describe this is like if that stereotypical American high school nerd you seen in movies turns in to a Charlie's Angle agent. Its funny and has that love interest aspect as well as clever I watched this a year or so ago now but its still one of my favourite series.
  • RuPaul's Drag Race - So this one is a little different to the others as it is a competition show, Its basically Americas next top model for drag queens. I became OBSESSED with this show and drag culture, it was something so interesting and hilarious to watch. Drag culture was something I didn't know much about as an art form and I now have so much respect for those who pursue a passion in it.
  • Gossip Girl - This is something that most people have already been a fan off for years but I had never seen an episode and I really enjoyed it. I used to watch 90210 and it defiantly reminded me of almost a New York fashion version. 100% a must watch, it made me want to visit NYC again and again.
  • That 70's show - Again an old favourite, it was one of those shows I used to pass by on the TV an now I have finally started watching it I feel in love with three things, the 70's,  the cast and the simple concept.
  • Community - It a comedy based around students at a crappy community collage. Its a little weird but nice and light hearted and funny, an easy watch, its one of those comedies you can just relax and watch to chill out after a long day.

Barbies For Boys

Barbies for boys and toy guns for girls is still seen as a weird concept for many people, all though I have personally found the ‘Tomboy’ personality for girls is far less frowned upon publicly, well at least to me but you many of found something different. However feminine toys for boys is seen as a massive no to many people and parents.

I have worked at a leading children's toy store which sells various different pieces of merchandise, its is an highly popular brand that as well a house hold name for almost 2 years this September. And I have seen many different types of parents and children come in and out of the store.

A lot of children toys have a very specific aimed gender and i used to hear parents tell there children ‘no that’s for girls’ or ‘don’t be silly thats too girly’ or even ’no that far to pink’. I think thats such a shame, just because a toy many be seemed to on gender wouldn't you rather let you child have what they want and what would make them happy. Even small thing because in reality some toys are aimed at bother for example a bowling set, just because its pink or blue doesn't mean bowling is just for a boy or girl. Many children's toys are simply a change of colour. Gender neutral colours would be so much easier, don't you think.

However I do want to say, I’ve seem girl get superhero costumes and boys receive princess dolls and I cant think of anything better. The longer I have worked there the more and more I've seen the change in parenting views, they are simply buying to make their child happy. Although many do mention the judgements they may receive from the grandparents. Even if you have not been brought up to receive every aspect of gender mixes, I don't see why people as parents would hold their children back from the same.

The jacket shown bellow is from the Rita Ora X Adidas range which has to be one of my favourite collaborations of singer and sports wear, as well as the shoes by Adidas. This has a very oriental vibe which has probably been provoked by my desperate want to visit Japan and China, I have so many places I want to visit but they are definatly top 5.
