I have tried gradual tanner a couple times to get some sort of summer glow but never full on fake tan, I've also never had a spray tan or used tanning beds. So pretty much the only time I'm ever tanned is when I go on holiday which is just sad! I feel like I'm defiantly missing out on this whole sun kissed appeal and I finally bit the bullet and picked up a couple different self tans from Boots to see if I like any at all. And well pray I don't botch it up to much. (side note, I tend to tan naturally with an orange undertone and generally tan well abroad, My Parent are original from Portugal and The Philippines so I have a very mixed skin tone therefore finding a good natural looking colour was a little more mixed for me.)
I tried picked a variation of different types of tanner considering I have only really used a cream style I didn't know if I would prefer a different type. The idea of a spray can completely confused me and i didn't want to look like an orange graffiti piece of work so I opted for gel, cream and moose.
The Gradual Tanner - I find this one does work well however I can only apply it every other day as its a little to strong for my skin tone and it turns me ORANGE which is never what you want. I may of need the lighter formula for my skin tone, it does moisturise well although there is a slight hint of shimmer which means if you don't like it steer clear. Overall thought it creates a nice natural tan when used properly. 6/10
The Gel - This is by far my favourite, you are meant to get the full effect after the third day of application and does take time to develop, it is best to apply this the night before you want any sort of effect. I find this the fastest drying and easiest to blend, I have had no problems with streaking however this does wash off fairly quickly if it has not had time to develop. This means you can get patchy if you are not careful which was defiantly me (right on my neck haha). 9/10
The Moose - This is the most fast effective however this has brought many problems for the applications it is so much easier to mess up. You 100% need a glove to put this one on and maybe more than one coat if you want a completely sun kissed appearance straight after use, this also needs a few hours to develop as well. I actually find I prefer this on my skin on the second day as it has developed properly and after a shower and some lotion it looks very natural. (Just be careful for CREASES) 8/10
I have been using may of these in a mixture of them all, and I find the gel and mouse work well taught and the lotion as a top off to it all.
